The 13 August 2008 entry for the Sandusky History blog from the Archives of the Sandusky Library presents interesting history on Homeville, the community in which the Ohio Soldiers & Sailors Home (now Ohio Veterans Home) is located. Many of the nearby streets are named from Civil War figures, including Grant, Beatty, and Force, and for early leaders of the Home, including Thomas Paxton and Thomas Dill.
